7 Ways to Spend Time With Your Pup Over the Summer

7 Ways to Spend Time With Your Pup Over the Summer

May 21, 2016

Here’s some ways to enjoy summer with your beloved pooch.

1. Go for a hike.

Many cities have parks where you can bring your dog on the trails. Hiking gives both you and your furry best friend the opportunity to exercise while enjoying the great outdoors.

    2. Go to a dog park.

Many cities now have dog parks where you pup can enjoy some  off-leash fun. Depending on the park, it will either be fenced in or open. Many also provide toys for your dogs to enjoy. This is a great way for your dog to socialize with other dogs.

      3. Take them out to eat.

Some restaurants now are pet friendly and you can dine with your dog outside. It's a great way to enjoy a brew or a bite to eat with your furry best friend.

      4. Get a kiddie pool.

The dog days of summer are no joke. Buy a kiddie pool so both you and your pooch can cool off. Kiddie pools generally only cost a few dollars and are a great way to beat the heat.

        5. Take them for a treat.

More restaurants now  offer treats for your dogs. At Starbucks you can get a puppuccino, which is a small bowl of whipped cream for your dog. At Culvers they offer dog biscuits for your pooch, with certain locations giving out custard with it too. Take your pooch to Dairy Queen and ask for a pup cup for them to enjoy. Check out your local restaurants to see what doggie specials they have.

        6. Catch a ballgame.

Many MLB teams now offer special days where you can take your dog to a game with you. Some teams will have dog giveaways or special activities for your dog to do before the game, such as taking a walk on the field.

          7. Go to an outdoor movie.

Many cities will hold outdoor movies during the summer, with several allowing dogs. Instead of leaving your pup at home, you can catch summer’s blockbuster hits together!

Summer is a wonderful time of year to bond with your dog. It’s important to make sure your dog always stays cool while having fun.
